Another year just flew by right before our eyes and as I prepare for the new year I reflect on the main events of 2016, the good and the bad so that I can learn with them and move forward in 2017.

A lot has happened but I feel the not-so-positive experiences have made me stronger and helped me re-align my vision to where I want this women’s health clinic to be. It really helps to revisit your vision every so often and ensure that you are on the right path.

Most importantly, I want to say that I have a business because of YOU!

In fact, I truly believe that this has been a key element of my success in terms of having a fully-booked diary. I know what I want to deliver to my patients and I won’t compromise it – I want the best for YOU; in return YOU have been rewarding me with your loyalty and endless referrals even knowing that I would have weeks of a waiting list. I am truly grateful for having such wonderful clients whose support has been fundamental in the running of my physiotherapy clinic.

With the increase of requests for Pregnancy Physiotherapy and Physiotherapy for Children services over the last 4 months, I have seen myself working late evenings and weekends, including Sundays, to meet my patient’s needs. In November alone we saw a staggering number of 24 new clients – most of them waited for 4 weeks to see me and for that a big thank you for your patience and trust.

I’m due to start training again in 2017 so my time will be rather limited but I will always do my best to try and see anyone who really needs my services. All I ask is to book your appointment in advance. For example, I’m almost fully booked for January 2017 and people are already booking for February. I’m just saying…J

I also have new projects starting in 2017 and part of moving forward also means branching out and bringing my services to new areas in Dublin. I am launching a new dedicated studio in D12 with a team of highly qualified instructors whose passion for helping people to achieve their fitness and well-being goals are aligned with our ethos.

Exercise is an important part of our health and well-being philosophy. Our studio in Sandyford is very small to accommodate all those looking for our services (plus the fact that some of you don’t leave our classes even if I beg you!! LOL). After 3 years searching, I finally found a studio that will serve our classes purposes. I’m still in shock, because everything happened so fast and was so unexpected but things always happen for a reason and always happen at the right time with the right people and the right energy. You just have to trust the process and keep moving forward!

I am grateful to the Universe for bringing me this opportunity. Unlike all the previous times where I had to deal with agents and landlords who literally just wasted my precious time, this time I met decent and honest people (the previous owners of the studio, the agent and landlord). I am making a point to say this in public because those who are familiar with this journey of mine know first-hand how difficult it has been and how people have been treating a person that is running a business by herself, by her own means in a foreign country and in a world dominated by men. Not easy at all It is all I can say.

So it is refreshing to find decent people that believe in you and your potential without any judgment and reservation and give you the opportunity to grow and move forward. A big thank you to all of them for allowing this old dream of mine to come true.

This new studio will cater for my West and North side clients with easy access from the M50 Red Cow area/exit. So those of you coming from Maynooth, Lucan, Blanchardstown, Malahide, Swords, Howth and other areas, you don’t need to travel to Sandyford to attend our classes anymore, which I hope it will reduce your travelling time. It will also cater for our male population and all TRX and Circuit Training lovers with highly energetic instructors to keep you on track.

I will continue my Pregnancy Pilates and Postnatal Pilates classes and introduce some new Programmes in 2017. I use my classes as an education tool, somewhat controversial, sometimes an eye opening with a bit of fun but you always learn something that will stick with you for the rest of your life, right ladies? J

As you can see, a lot to be grateful for during this year of 2016 despite all the adversities faced and a lot to look forward to in 2017.

Let us move forward together in health and wellness.

Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!
